As a Canadian and a lover of art, I’ve always been a big fan of the Group of 7, specifically Tom Thompson and Lawren Harris. This specific piece was inspired by them as well as back country canoe trip I took to Killarney Provincial Park in 2017. It was a humbling experience in this age of constant notifications and info overload to be completely off the grid without cell reception for a few days. It gave me time to be alone with my thoughts, mentally reset, and refresh my creativity.
